Ferrari has come up with a special edition featuring two speedsters based on the Ferrari 812. The cars will be officially revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month but were shown to a number of loyal Ferrari customers at the Capital Market’s day in Maranello. The cars take inspiration from the Ferrari sportscars of the 1950’s and 60’s, namely the 166MM and the 750 Monza.
The Ferrari SP1 Monza
The cars feature a single seat (SP1) and a double seat (SP2) configuration with no roof or windshields. The body style has been called as the ‘Barchetta’, meaning ‘little boat’ in Italian. The cars get carbon fiber body construction along with distinctive headlamps and tail lamps.
Powering the two new Ferraris will be the most powerful engine on a production car, the 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 800 HP and 720 NM of torque. The result is a 0-100 kmph timing of just 2.9 seconds and a 0-200 kmph timing of 7.9 seconds.
The Ferrari SP2 Monza
Further details on the cars will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show next month. The cars will be run on a limited production volume of just 500 units combined. Stay tuned for more on the SP1 and SP2 Monza.
