It comes equipped with BMW Motorrad’s Shiftcam technology. It helps in offering better bottom end and mid-range performance.
This 2019 model weighs at 197 Kgs which is 11 Kgs lighter than the outgoing model. The frame consists of a new twin-spar Aluminium frame and a trellis sub-frame, giving the bike a new riding geometry. S1000RR electronics include 4-riding modes as standard which are Road, Rain, Dynamic and Race. It also gets launch control, pit-lane speed limiter, six-axis sensor cluster which controls the ABS, dynamic traction control, wheelie control and engine braking control as well. Instrument cluster is a 6.5-inch TFT with Bluetooth connectivity.
It will take CBU route to India and is INR 50,000 expensive than its predecessor. It rivals the likes of Ducati Panigale V4, Kawasaki ZX-10RR and the Suzuki GSX-R1000 in India.

Mr. Dimitris Raptis, Head of Asia-Pacific, China, Russia, Africa, BMW Motorrad said, “No other bike can be a more authentic interpretation of the sport world than the BMW S 1000 RR. In 2009, we made a big entry into the market of high-performance sports bikes with the launch of the BMW S 1000 RR. It became the leader in its segment almost overnight and since then has set the benchmark in the field of performance sports bikes. For the all-new 2019 ‘Double R’ our goal was simple – ‘Make it even better’, and we did just that! Moving into its third generation, the BMW S 1000 RR has been enhanced in all disciplines. It is now lighter, faster, more uncompromising and more easily controllable than ever before.”
