This new generation motorcycle is very new to look at as it is missing the signature asymmetrical headlamps. Compared to its maniac stance because of iconic asymmetrical headlamps now it is just another mean machine which is ready to tear asphalt. Now, the bike has an appeal of more of a sophisticated matured bike which is ready to spread its wings once you open that throttle.
Getting to the main part – The Heart of the bike now comprises of a 998 cc in-line four engine which is 4Kgs lighter, generates 204 bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque along with a 6-speed precise gearbox and a bi-directional quick-shifter. It comes equipped with BMW Motorrad’s Shiftcam technology. It helps in offering better bottom end and mid-range performance.

This 2019 model weighs at 197 Kgs which is 11 Kgs lighter than the outgoing model. The frame consists of a new twin-spar Aluminium frame and a trellis sub-frame, giving the bike a new riding geometry. S1000RR electronics include 4-riding modes as standard which are Road, Rain, Dynamic and Race. It also gets launch control, pit-lane speed limiter, six-axis sensor cluster which controls the ABS, dynamic traction control, wheelie control and engine braking control as well. Instrument cluster is a 6.5-inch TFT with Bluetooth connectivity.
It will take CBU route to India and is INR 50,000 expensive than its predecessor. It rivals the likes of Ducati Panigale V4, Kawasaki ZX-10RR and the Suzuki GSX-R1000 in India.

The ex-showroom prices are as follows –

BMW S 1000 RR Standard          –          INR 18,50,000

BMW S 1000 RR Pro                   –          INR 20,95,000

Mr. Dimitris Raptis, Head of Asia-Pacific, China, Russia, Africa, BMW Motorrad said, “No other bike can be a more authentic interpretation of the sport world than the BMW S 1000 RR. In 2009, we made a big entry into the market of high-performance sports bikes with the launch of the BMW S 1000 RR. It became the leader in its segment almost overnight and since then has set the benchmark in the field of performance sports bikes. For the all-new 2019 ‘Double R’ our goal was simple – ‘Make it even better’, and we did just that! Moving into its third generation, the BMW S 1000 RR has been enhanced in all disciplines. It is now lighter, faster, more uncompromising and more easily controllable than ever before.”
