Yamaha has launched the 2019 MY MT-09 in India. The Mad Yamaha is the title carried by this bike in International Markets. It is launched at a price of Rs. 10.55 Lakhs ex-showroom India. The new Model witnesses a price hike of Rs 16,000 over the older model. Bookings for the new 2019 MT-09 are already open at Yamaha dealerships across India, while deliveries will begin in the following weeks.
The 2019 model is a minor update with cosmetic changes with a new paint scheme called “Night Fluo” alongside Black and Yamaha signature Blue.
The Mad Yamaha continues to be charged up with an 847cc, inline-3-cylinder engine that puts out 111 HP at a twist of the throttle and 87.5 Nm torque to the rear tyre. It gets a one-way quick shifter by using which the rider can operate 6-speed manual gearbox seamlessly. The engine is tuned to follow 3 different modes: standard, city and sport mode. Plus, the upright almost-super moto riding position is extremely comfortable.
The MT-09 gets 41 mm USD forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear, both of which are adjustable. Braking performance comes from 298 mm dual discs up front and a 245 mm single disc at the rear. The kerb weight stands at 193 kg. Other Highlights include alien-inspired twin-pod LED headlamps, Red coloured alloy wheels, 14 litre fuel tank and split seats.
The bike will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit. It rivals the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple 765 and Ducati Monster 821.
