Royal Enfield has launched the dual-channel ABS equipped Bullet 500 in India. Priced at Rs 1.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Bullet 500 ABS is Rs 14,000 more expensive than the non-ABS standard model. Bookings for the dual-channel ABS equipped model are already open for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Deliveries are expected to start in February.
To comply with the new safety regulations that are set to take effect from April 1, the company has been silently updating its portfolio with ABS. With most of its range having received the mandatory update, The company is yet to offer the dual-channel ABS option on the Classic 350, Bullet 350 and the Bullet 350 Electra.
Apart from the inclusion of ABS, the bike remains mechanically and cosmetically unchanged.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 ABS is powered by the same 499cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that produces 28PS of power and 41.3Nm of torque.
