Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has updated its popular selling CB Shine range. The company has introduced Combined Braking System (CBS) on the drum-brake model of the CB Shine And CB Shine SP. As we know, the the Combined Braking System (CBS) safety feature will be mandatory on all 125 cc and below two-wheelers from April 1, 2019, onwards. The company was already offering the CBS feature on the disc-brake variant but now, the Combined Braking System is made available to the drum-brake model as well to meet the new safety norms.
The Honda CB Shine CBS Drum brake version is priced at Rs 58,338 while the Honda CB Shine SP Drum CBS is priced at Rs 64,098 (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi). Both versions are priced at a premium of Rs 559 over the non-CBS variants.
Powering the Honda CB Shine and the CB Shine SP is the same 124.73 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 10.16 hp of power at 7500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm. The CB Shine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox, while the CB Shine SP gets a 5-speed transmission.
The non-CBS variants will be discontinued across the Honda range once the April 1, deadline kicks-in. The CB Shine range have developed a customer base of over 70 lakh in India.
