Hyundai has confirmed that the long awaited subcompact SUV Hyundai Styx (Codenamed QXi) will make its public debut at New York Show which is going to be held in mid-april. Styx is going to take its position as next big volume model globally and will be placed below Creta or Kona depending upon the region. For the US market, Hyundai is going to add a torque converter automatic gearbox which is a first in segment offering.
Under the hood, it will be powered by 1.2 L petrol and a 1.5 Litre diesel. There could be more powertrain options depending upon the market. On the inside, Styx is expected to feature loaded with features like multiple airbags, a sunroof, large touchscreen infotainment, autonomous braking, as well as flexible interior seating and cargo options. It is also expected that Styx will bring first in segment features like reverse sensors and camera, keyless entry and smartphone connectivity as standard to the segment. If this happens, Styx will make a lot of Car Companies very nervous.
we expect this car to hit the Indian Market soon. It is based on same platform that underpins the Grand i10 and Xcent. Made specially for Indian Market but bound to sold in multiple geographies, this car will be made in India, Turkey and South Korea.
As we all know, Hyundai is very particular about car’s nomenclature, Styx is also been derived from mystical river in Greek Mythology which is famous for its Goodness and carrying properties of invulnerability. When launched, it will be competing against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, TATA Nexon, Ford Ecosport and the upcoming Mahindra XUV 300.
