The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift was recently launched in the Indonesian market afeter being showcased at the GIIAS in Jakarta and now the timeframe for the much-awaited Indian launch has been revealed. The car will be launched sometime between Dussehra and Diwali with more chances of the launch being towards the end of October.
Being the first updated since it was launched in 2012, the Ertiga now comes packed with features and a much more premium feel to it. The car will take on the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta and the recently launched Mahindra Marazzo.
The styling has undergone a sea-change and the front fascia is much sharper and sleeker now. The headlamps are now much slimmer and sharper, thus doing away with the curvy look of the first generation Ertiga. The fog lamp housing is also a reworked area with triangular inserts on either side of a central air dam. At the rear too, the new Ertiga takes on an updated bumper and tail gate design along with new tail lamps.
On the inside, the new Ertiga features a dual-tone beige and black theme for the cabin and comes loaded with features like the 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, ABS, EBD, airbags and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, a new K15B 1.5L VVT 4 Cylinder Petrol engine will debut on the 2018 Ertiga that produces 104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. This Particular engine will replace the present K14B 1.4L VVT petrol engine. The 2018 Ertiga will come a 5 Speed Manual or 4 Speed AMT option. The claimed fuel efficiency for the manual is 18.06kmpl and 16.73kmpl for the AMT option.
With the new Mahindra Marazzo being launched at a very competitive price starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh, the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga should also be priced similarly as the cars will be competing directly. Stay tuned for more on the new Ertiga.
