Maruti Suzuki sold 1,53,539 units in November 2018

Maruti Suzuki India has announced its sales numbers for the month of November 2018. Witnessing a marginal drop in total sales for the month, the company sold 1,53,539 units in  November 2018, a 0.7% decline when compared to 1,54,600 units sold during the same month last year.

Maruti Suzuki’s total domestic sales went up by just 0.5% to 1,46,018 units from 1,45,300 units sold in November 2017. Even the exports too witnessed decline as only 7,521 units were exported last month, a decline of 19.1% compared to 9,300 units exported the same month last year.

Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level segment, which includes the Alto range and WagonR sold 29,954 units in November 2018, a massive 21.6% decline when compared to 38,204 units sold in the same month last year. However, the compact car segment, which includes the likes of the Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire witnessed a 10.8% jump in sales to 72,533 units as compared to 65,447 units in November 2017.

The mid-size sedan Ciaz sold only 3,838 units last month, compared to 4,009 units sold in November 2017, registering a drop of 4.3%. The utility vehicle category which includes the likes of the Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and Gypsy also saw a growth of 1.2% with 23,512 units sold last month as compared to 23,072 units sold in November 2017.

The sales of the vans category, which includes the Omni and Eeco, also grew by 3.6% to 14,053 units sold last month as compared to 13,565 units sold in November 2017. Maruti Suzuki India light commercial vehicle Super Carry saw a massive triple-digit growth of 112.2% with 2,128 units sold last month, compared to 1,003 units sold in November 2017.
