Citing RS Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki, a new report from The Economic Times states that the company’s latest iteration of Ertiga MPV has received 23,000 bookings since its launch. RS Kalsi, further said that the high demand on the MPV should boost sales in the final quarter of financial year.
2018 Ertiga was launched a month ago. The company and its suppliers have invested over INR 900 Crores for the development of 2nd Generation of the Ertiga MPV. 2018 Ertiga is available with 10 different configurations with a price ranging from 7.5 lakhs to around 11 lakhs.
The company is also planning to launch a plusher 6-seat version which will be sold through the NEXA channel with the E15A 1.5-litre diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. There is also a CNG unit option on the cards for launch next year somewhere in May. However, MSIL has not confirmed any of these variants.
As compared to its competition, the Marazzo and Innova Crysta, it is lighter on the pocket and comes equipped with features like projector headlamps, 4.2-Inch MID, one touch fold and slide mechanism for second row seat, 7-Inch touch infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. On the outside it boasts a length of 4,395 mm with a width of 1,735 mm along with 209 Litres of boot space which is expandable up to 803 Litres.
