Porsche to launch 2018 Cayenne in India on October 17

Porsche will be launching their third generation Cayenne in India on October 17, 2018. The 2018 Cayenne will come with comprehensive updates over the previous generation and for the first time will be offered with the option of a hybrid powertrain as well. Bookings for the new Cayenne have been open since the beginning of the year and the first set of cars are already sold out. Prices are expected from Rs 1 Crore for the Standard version going all the way up to Rs 2.5 Crore for the Range topping variants. The 2018 Cayenne will go against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLS, Range Rover Sport, BMW X5 M and Maserati Levante.

The 2018 Cayenne will be offered with a range of engine options including V6 and V8. The Standard Model will come equipped with a 3.0 L single-turbo V6 engine which produces 335 hp of power and 450 Nm of torque. The Cayenne S will get the 2.9 L twin-turbo V6 motor that produces 433 hp of power and 550 Nm of torque. The Range topping Cayenne Turbo gets the 4.0 L bi-turbo V8 engine which produces 542 hp of power and 770 Nm of torque.

The 2018 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid will employ a 3.0 L V6 engine coupled with the electric motor with a combined power output of 462 hp and 700 Nm of torque. The Cayenne E-Hybrid has a 0-100 kmph timing of 5 seconds while the top speed is rated at 253 kmph. The newly-developed eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission is standard across the Cayenne Range.

Feature highlights include revised chassis, Porsche Dynamic Light System (PLDS) or LED Matrix Beam headlights, four off-road modes – Mud, Gravel, Sand, or Rock, 12.3-inch touchscreen system shared with the Panamera, Lane Changing Assist, lane keeping assist with traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, park assist, adaptive cruise control and instrument console with two 7-inch full-HD displays.
