We all Know that Prince William is quite a motorcycle enthusiast. Just last week, the bike that caught Prince William’s attention was the upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Prince William checked out the Interceptor 650 displayed at the reception welcoming Commonwealth leaders to Britain On April 16, 2018. Prince Williams was seen talking to the Royal Enfield Head Siddhartha Lal at the event. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is scheduled to be launched in the UK market this month followed by a launch in the Indian Market.

The Name interceptor was first used on a Royal Enfield Motorcycle in 1960s which continued production till 1970. The bike had a 692 cc vertical-twin engine which was shared with Royal Enfield’s Constellation model. In 1962, Interceptor 750 was also Introduced which also stayed in production till 1970.The 2018 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 pays homage to the original 1962 Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 Range which are considered to have the smoothest British Engines.

The Interceptor is one of two new Royal Enfield Motorcycles that is built on a completely new 650 cc twin-engine platform, the other being Continental GT650. The Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650 were displayed for the first time at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan last November.

The 2018 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is powered by an Air Cooled 648cc Parallel-Twin Engine that produces 47 bhp of power at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The Engine is mated to a 6 speed Gearbox with slip-assist Clutch. The bike is expected to have a top speed of 160kmph.

The Pricing for the Interceptor 650 will be in the Range of ₹ 3.25-3.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
