As per latest developments, The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 will launch in India on November 14. The Royal Enfield 650 Twins were launched in the USA in September. The price for the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 starts at USD 5,999 while the Interceptor 650 starts at USD 5,799 in the US.
Both the bikes made their global debut at the EICMA 2017. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 are powered by an all-new 648 cc parallel-twin engine. The engine produces 47 hp of power at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, a first for the company with a standard slip-assist clutch.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 gets a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 L and has a kerb weight of 197 kg, while the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has a 13.7 L fuel tank with a kerb weight of 202 kg. Both the bikes feature a steel tubular double cradle chassis with 41 mm telescopic forks setup at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Both the bikes come shod with 18-inch wire-spoke wheels fitted with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres.
The Royal Enfield 650 twins are expected to cost between Rs 3-3.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
