The Kamiq SUV, Skoda’s smallest SUV, has been seen almost undisguised ahead of its world premiere that is scheduled to take place in Geneva motor show soon. The five-seat Skoda Kamiq SUV shares its underpinnings with the new Volkswagen T-Cross that made its debut last year.
Kamiq, the newest offering from Skoda in Compact SUV segment is one to look for. It will be introduced to India next year in 2020 and will be stacked up against Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Mahindra XUV300. Yes! Skoda is a little late in their decision to enter the segment but as the saying goes “Better Late than Never”.
The production version of 5-seater Euro-Spec Kamiq share its design cues from Skoda Vision X concept and underpins Volkswagen T-cross chassis. For India, it will get tweaked for more space and will use a modified MQB AO IN version, wide grill, two-piece headlight setup, wrap around LED tail-lamps, a floating type infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, heated rear seats, heated windscreen and steering wheel along with a fully electrically adjustable driver seat. It will be small sibling to Skoda Kodiaq.
In India we will see new powertrains for Kamiq and those will be BSVI compliant. It is expected to be priced between 15-20 Lakhs.
