On May 20, 2019, Suzuki is also planning to launch Gixxer SF 155 alongside Gixxer SF 250. The SF 155 takes the design and styling from SF 250 but gets a smaller capacity engine while both the motorcycles follow GSX-R inspired styling mainly. Gixxer SF 155 is coming to a very crowded segment where it is dominated mainly by Yamaha brand while the Gixxer SF 250 will come in a segment where there is hardly any competition except Honda CBR 250R.
2019 Gixxer SF 155 is more sportier looking than the current model. It gets clip-on handle bars, new headlamp cluster inspired from GSX-R, LED DRLs, comparatively aggressive riding position but we don’t think it will be as dedicated as the Yamaha R15. It also gets a split seat now. The twin double barrel exhaust continues but we expect there are some tweaks in it too.
Mechanically, it draws power from 154.9 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine tuned to produce 14.6 hp of power and 14 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. We are not sure if Suzuki will bump the power output figures and give the Gixxer SF 155 a 6-speed gearbox but Gixxer SF 250 is definitely getting a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties will be handled by usual telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, while braking will be governed by dual-disc setup coupled with single-channel ABS.
2019 Gixxer SF 155 will receive a price hike and will compete against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS 200, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 200R, and Yamaha R15 V3.
