TATA Motors has recorded over 10,000 booking for its newly launched SUV based on the Land Rover Discovery’s D8 architecture – The Harrier. Guenter Butschek, Managing Director, Tata Motors, said: “We have more than 10,000 pending orders, which is extremely strong. Could we have done better, sure. I would have loved to. From my own expectations of delivering exceptional quality, we did not meet expectations, but we were good so far and improving every day. We are booked for the next four months and I think that is a good show”.
Initially, deliveries from the company have raised a few quality concerns but those matters were addressed at the dealer level at high priority. Harrier rivals the likes of Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass in the Indian market. TATA however, is on the rise with its recent offerings addition to Indian Market, especially the SUV and MPV segment with sales over 62,000 units this financial year. Also, the news of providing the Harrier with petrol variant and automatic transmission is proving to be taking shape.
The Harrier SUV might receive a new Altas Black colour scheme. The new paint job will be made available on the XM, ZT and ZX trims. Currently, the Tata Harrier comes in five colour schemes – Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Ariel Silver, Telesto Grey and Orcus White.
Price of the Harrier ranges between Rs 12.69-16.25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) and current waiting period for the SUV is 4-months. Bookings for the Harrier commenced in mid-October 2018, and the SUV can be booked at an amount of Rs 30,000.
