If you are an automobile enthusiast, you will be familiar with the second biggest launch from the country’s largest manufacturer this year, the 2nd Gen Ertiga. Spotted multiple times in India now, the 2nd Gen ertiga aims to rectify all the problems that were associated with the 1st generation model. The new gen is bigger, more spacious and more feature laden than the outgoing model.
Now, as per a news report published by Cardekho, Maruti Suzuki will be moving their 2018 Ertiga to the NEXA Brand. Launched in July 2015, NEXA is Maruti Suzuki’s premium sales channel. Currently, 4 models namely Maruti S-Cross, Maruti Baleno, Maruti Ignis and Maruti Ciaz retail through it.
By shifting the 2018 Ertiga to the NEXA Brand, Maruti Suzuki will be trying to tap into the premium MPV segment which is currently ruled by the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The 2018 Ertiga is based on the HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Swift, Dzire, Ignis and Baleno. The 2018 Ertiga has grown by 99mm in Length, 40mm in width and 5mm in height. The Wheelbase remains unchanged at 2740 mm.
Under the hood, a new K15B 1.5L VVT 4 Cylinder Petrol engine will debut on the 2018 Ertiga that produces 104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. This Particular engine will replace the present K14B 1.4L VVT petrol engine. The 2018 Ertiga will come a 5 Speed Manual or 4 Speed AMT option.
