Yamaha has announced a new bike launch on Jan 21, 2019. While there is no clarity of what the company plans to launch, we can only play the guessing game. The launch event is organised in Bangalore. It could be the latest all new naked sports streetfighter based on new R15 V3, The MT15 which is on the cards and bound to join the India offerings from Yamaha, or it could be the facelift version of FZ which has caught testing several times and is named as FZ F1.
MT15 will be a premium offering on Yamaha stable and will share the 155cc engine from R15 V3. We hope that Yamaha brings inverted forks in this bike instead of the conventional telescopic forks in the front. It will be a direct rival to Apache RTR 200, Hero extreme 200 and Bajaj pulsar NS 200.
Whereas, FZ F1 will receive its facial components from FZ25 and 1000cc version of FZ like the tank extensions with faux air scoops. May be this motorcycle will also get the higher displacement engine from R15 V3 or it could use the same 150cc engine with some bump in power and torque.
At this event, we could also expect to see the ABS versions of R15 V3 and the R3 because of the government rule of equipping the bikes with dual channel ABS if it displaces more than 125cc.
