Yamaha will unveil its naked streetfighter 155cc at Buddh International Circuit, Noida, on March 15. With just 2 weeks to go, The India-spec 2019 Yamaha MT-15 has been spied completely undisguised, courtesy Instagram user MT15crew. The undisguised bike that reveals the design and one of the colour schemes it will get along with other details. Bookings for the MT15 are underway at an amount of INR 5,000.
Yamaha MT15 is actually a stripped-down version of R15V3 but will be priced lower than R15V3 as MT15 lacks some of the features R15V3 carries. Spy images show the bike in matte blue and black colour scheme with fully blacked out wheel rims. A fluorescent-yellow rim tape runs along the wheels which looks sporty.
According to the leaked spec-sheet, the bike will have the same 155cc unit at its core that produces 19.3hp at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500rpm, but with all the stripped-down weight the bike should be a performer. However, as compared to the international version, India-spec will come in conventional telescopic fork and a box-section swingarm.
With this downgrade, we can say that MT15 will be placed between 1 Lakh to 1.2 Lakh mark. Let’s see how Yamaha will justify the price of MT15 along with R15S and R15V3. The naked streetfighter will compete with the likes of KTM 125 Duke, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200.
